New Mexico Lobos Clash with Air Force Falcons in Battle for Victory

As the New Mexico Lobos prepare to face off against the Air Force Falcons, fans are bracing for an electrifying encounter. The Lobos, coming off a nail-biting game against the Utah State Aggies on March 10th where they scored 85 points but narrowly lost by 2 points, have shown that they can put up big numbers and stay competitive until the final buzzer.

The statistics from their recent games paint a picture of a team that has strengths to leverage and weaknesses to address. Against Utah State, they demonstrated impressive scoring inside the paint with 48 points and maintained a solid field goal percentage at 52 percent. However, their free throw accuracy was less than stellar at just 61 percent. This could be an area of concern as every point counts in close matchups.

In their home victory over Fresno State Bulldogs on March 7th, the Lobos showcased their defensive prowess with an astounding 10 blocks and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 11 points off them. Their rebounding was dominant as well; pulling down a total of 54 rebounds is no small feat and it provided them ample second-chance opportunities which they converted into an additional 20 points.

However, it's not all smooth sailing for UNM. Their three-point shooting hovered around just over one-third success rate in both mentioned games which might not cut it against AFA if they can't find more consistency from beyond the arc.

The Falcons will certainly pose challenges; any team cannot be underestimated at this level of competition. But if UNM can harness their ability to score inside while tightening up at the free-throw line and beyond the three-point line, they stand a good chance of controlling this game's narrative.

Looking ahead to March 13th at Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, fans should expect UNM to come out with intensity and focus on exploiting these areas of strength while shoring up any vulnerabilities exposed in recent outings.

Lobos supporters eager to catch this pivotal matchup can tune into MW Network online for live coverage starting at 5:00 PM local time (Mountain Time Zone). With both teams vying for supremacy on court, this is one spectacle you won't want to miss!
