Aggies Aim to Rebound Against Panthers at Pan American Center

As the New Mexico State Aggies prepare to host the Florida International Panthers, fans are looking forward to what promises to be an intriguing matchup at the Pan American Center. The Aggies, coming off a series of challenging games, are set on getting back on track after recent performances.

In their last outing against Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, the Aggies fell short with 58 points compared to the Bulldogs' 67. Despite matching their opponents in scoring during the first half, they couldn't keep up in the second. A concerning statistic for NMSU was their field goal percentage which stood at 39 percent and free throw percentage at just 54 percent. They also struggled under the boards with only 22 rebounds.

The previous game saw a similar pattern against Sam Houston Bearkats where they scored an identical 58 points but allowed a higher total of 79 points against them. Their shooting percentages were slightly better than in their last game; however, turnovers and rebounding were still areas of concern.

Looking further back against Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on enemy territory, NMSU managed another consistent scoreline of 58 points but conceded more with a total of 72 points against them. The team's field goal percentage was marginally better at around 40 percent but still below what is needed for winning games consistently.

The upcoming game presents an opportunity for NMSU to improve these statistics and capitalize on playing in front of their home crowd. Fans can expect NMSU to focus on enhancing their shooting efficiency and rebounding efforts while reducing turnovers which have been detrimental in past games.

The Aggies will need strong leadership from key players and solid contributions from bench players as well if they hope to overcome FIU's challenge. With dedicated practice sessions focused on addressing weaknesses highlighted by recent analytics, there is optimism that NMSU can turn things around starting with this next encounter.

Fans eager to support New Mexico State can catch all the action live from Las Cruces when ESPN+ broadcasts this exciting contest scheduled for March 9th at precisely two o'clock post meridiem Mountain Time (MT).
