The Wolfpack entered halftime trailing with only 22 points to Syracuse's 38 but managed to rally in the second half by adding an impressive 43 points to their tally. Despite this surge, it was not enough to overcome the home team's consistent performance across both halves. The North Carolina State team showcased resilience and determination as they fought back against a formidable opponent.

Offensively, North Carolina State demonstrated a balanced attack but struggled with field goal accuracy, shooting only 36 percent from the field and converting just over one-third of their two-point attempts. However, they excelled at free throws by sinking nine out of eleven attempts for an impressive 82 percent completion rate. From beyond the arc, they managed to make eight three-pointers at a rate of 32 percent.

Defensively, rebounds were a strong suit for NCST as they grabbed a total of 41 rebounds—27 defensive and an additional twelve offensive boards contributing to second-chance opportunities that yielded them twelve points. Their defense also registered two blocks and four steals throughout the game.

Despite these efforts by NCST players who turned over possession fourteen times which translated into eight points off turnovers for Syracuse. In contrast, Syracuse capitalized on turnovers more effectively scoring sixteen points off NCST’s giveaways while committing fewer turnovers themselves.

The Wolfpack did manage some fast-paced offense generating nineteen fast break points but ultimately fell short in matching up against Syracuse’s twenty-one fast break points and slightly better shooting efficiency inside paint where they scored thirty compared to thirty-two by Orange.

Looking ahead after this tough encounter on enemy territory at JMA Wireless Dome; fans can look forward to seeing North Carolina State back in action when they host Miami (FL) Hurricanes at PNC Arena located in Raleigh on January 30th scheduled for a tip-off time of 9:00 PM Eastern Time zone broadcasted nationally on ESPN2 channel number two hundred nine ensuring supporters won’t miss any live action from home comfort or wherever they may be tuning into support their team.
