In their last game on December 21st against the Oklahoma Sooners, ranked 7th at the time, UNC emerged victorious with an impressive scoreline of 81-69. Their performance was marked by a strong second half where they outscored the Sooners by four points and showcased their ability to close out games. A notable statistic from this victory was their fast break points tallying up to 23, indicating that when UNC gets going, they can be devastating on the counter-attack.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for UNC. In a closely contested battle with Kentucky Wildcats on December 16th which ended in an 83-87 loss for UNC despite being ranked higher at number nine compared to Kentucky's fourteenth rank. This game highlighted some defensive lapses as they allowed too many points in paint and second-chance opportunities for Kentucky.

The Tar Heels also faced a tough matchup against UConn Huskies earlier on December 6th where they fell short with a score of 76-87. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways such as an assist-to-turnover ratio of over two and significant contributions from bench players which demonstrated depth in the roster.

Looking ahead at Syracuse Orange's home court advantage within JMA Wireless Dome could pose challenges; however, if past performances are any indicators – particularly those fast break opportunities – then fans might witness another thrilling victory for UNC. The key will be maintaining defensive solidity while exploiting any transition opportunities that arise during play.

UNC supporters should expect head coach Hubert Davis to have his team ready for battle come Valentine’s Day evening when these two storied programs clash once again. It will be essential for players like Caleb Love and Armando Bacot to step up and deliver performances worthy of leading their team towards another crucial win as March Madness looms closer.

Fans won’t want to miss what promises to be an exciting matchup between North Carolina Tar Heels and Syracuse Orange scheduled on February 14th at midnight Eastern Time at JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse NY; broadcasted live on ESPN Networks.
