The North Carolina Tar Heels showcased their offensive capabilities by maintaining a field goal percentage of 50 and converting on 47 percent from beyond the arc. With an aggressive approach to the game, they managed to score 19 fast break points and dominated inside with 36 points in paint. Their free throw accuracy was notable as well, hitting 83 percent from the line.

Defensively, the Tar Heels were just as formidable. They grabbed a total of 39 rebounds—26 defensive and an additional 11 on offense—giving them multiple second-chance opportunities that led to scoring an extra dozen points. Despite committing more turnovers than their opponents with a count of thirteen compared to seven by Duke, they managed to keep their assists-turnover ratio close at .92.

On individual performances for UNC, it was a collective effort that saw them through this intense matchup. Steals were evenly distributed among players who contributed defensively with six steals overall and three blocks that helped disrupt Duke's rhythm.

The Duke Blue Devils put up strong resistance throughout the game but couldn't match UNC's intensity when it mattered most. They shot at a lower percentage across all categories: field goals (43 percent), three-pointers (39 percent), and two-pointers (46 percent). However, they did manage to capitalize slightly better on turnovers by scoring fifteen points off UNC's mistakes compared to fourteen by North Carolina.

Duke also struggled under pressure in terms of rebounding; they only secured twenty-eight rebounds against UNC's thirty-nine which limited their second-chance point opportunities significantly—they scored ten second-chance points versus twelve by UNC—and had no remaining timeouts towards crunch time which could have been crucial for strategy adjustments.

As fans reflect on this hard-fought victory for North Carolina at one of college basketball’s most storied venues filled to its capacity crowd of nine thousand three hundred fourteen spectators, they can look forward with anticipation as future broadcasts will continue covering every step of this storied rivalry between these two prestigious universities.
