On the other side, despite putting up a valiant effort, Miami (FL) Hurricanes couldn't keep pace with North Carolina's scoring onslaught. They managed to score 73 points but struggled defensively against North Carolina's sharpshooters. The Hurricanes did have moments where they shined through steals and blocks but ultimately fell short in rebounding and turnovers which played a significant role in their defeat.

Jae'Lyn Withers' double-double performance for North Carolina was another highlight of the game; scoring 11 points and grabbing ten rebounds showcased his importance to his team's success on both ends of the floor.
