From the onset, the North Texas Mean Green established a strong lead with 32 points in the first half against the Owls' 22. The second half continued to showcase North Texas's dominance as they added another 37 points to their score, while Temple managed to put up only 29 additional points. The final score reflected the consistent effort of the Mean Green throughout both halves.

The statistics reveal that North Texas excelled in various aspects of the game. They shot an impressive 47 percent from field goals and were particularly effective from beyond the arc, hitting eight three-pointers at a notable rate of 42 percent. Their two-point attempts were also successful half of the time, contributing significantly to their total score.

On defense, North Texas was equally formidable; they blocked two shots and made four steals during play. Their defensive efforts limited Temple's scoring opportunities and kept them at a low field goal percentage of just 31 percent for the game.

Rebounding was another area where North Texas shone brightly; they out-rebounded Temple by nine boards, grabbing a total of 39 rebounds compared to Temple's 30. This included securing more offensive rebounds which led to crucial second-chance points that both teams capitalized on equally with each adding fifteen points from such plays.

Assists were another highlight for North Texas as they distributed thirteen assists over their scoring plays demonstrating solid teamwork and ball movement against Temple’s five assists. This contributed greatly to their higher assist-to-turnover ratio which stood at an efficient rate compared to that of their opponents.

Temple did have some moments where they excelled; notably, they had an exceptional free throw percentage making nearly all attempted shots from the line but this precision wasn't enough against a well-rounded performance by North Texas.

Looking ahead for fans of North Texas Mean Green basketball team: The next challenge awaits on January 17th when UNT will face off against East Carolina Pirates at Minges Coliseum in Greenville NC scheduled for tip-off at 7:00 PM Eastern Time broadcasted on ESPN+.
