In a closely contested battle at FAU Arena, the North Texas Mean Green and the Florida Atlantic Owls engaged in a game that tested both teams' mettle. North Texas Mean Green VS Florida Atlantic Owls

The first half saw the Mean Green establish a slight edge over their opponents, ending with a two-point lead at 28-26. Their offensive efforts were led by an impressive field goal percentage of 46 percent overall and an even more notable 49 percent from two-point range. The team's defense was equally active, securing five steals and three blocks throughout the game.

North Texas maintained their momentum into the second half as they continued to find success inside the paint, contributing to their total of 28 points in that area. Their ability to convert turnovers into points was evident with 14 points coming off turnovers by halftime. Additionally, they capitalized on second-chance opportunities by adding six more points to their tally.

The team's three-point shooting was also noteworthy; they sank eight out of twenty attempts resulting in a solid 40 percent success rate from beyond the arc. Free throws were scarce but efficient for North Texas as they made three out of four attempts.

On defense, North Texas pulled down an impressive number of rebounds with personal rebounds totaling 28 and team rebounds adding another three to reach a combined count of 31 for the game. This included ten offensive boards which provided additional scoring chances for them.

Despite these strong performances across various facets of play, it wasn't enough to secure victory against Florida Atlantic who managed to pull ahead later in the game due largely to their fast break execution which netted them twelve fast break points compared to four for North Texas.

While both teams ended up committing similar numbers of turnovers—12 for North Texas and thirteen for Florida Atlantic—the Owls had slightly better luck converting these opportunities into points.
