The game was held at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, where 4,785 fans witnessed the Mean Green put forth a strong performance. The team showcased their speed with 17 fast break points and demonstrated tenacity on defense by recording ten steals. The North Texas offense was particularly effective in the paint where they scored an impressive 40 points.

North Texas' shooting from inside the arc was efficient; they made half of their two-point attempts (21 out of 42). However, long-range shots were not falling as consistently for them as they only converted four out of eighteen three-point attempts – rounding off to a mere 22 percent success rate from beyond the arc. From the free-throw line, North Texas was more successful, making eight out of ten shots which translates to an excellent free throw percentage of around 80 percent.

On the rebounding front, North Texas gathered a total of thirty-one rebounds – nineteen defensive and twelve offensive. This effort on the boards contributed significantly to their eight second-chance points throughout the game. In terms of ball movement and teamwork, North Texas tallied nine assists but also turned over possession twelve times.

One area that might have been concerning for North Texas was personal fouls; players committed nineteen fouls over the course of play which led to one player being fouled out. Despite this setback and having no remaining timeouts towards endgame scenarios, they managed an assist-to-turnover ratio slightly above one (1.13).

Meanwhile, UAB capitalized on opportunities presented by turnovers scoring eight points off turnovers compared to seventeen by North Texas from similar situations. They also had nine blocks contributing defensively while committing fewer personal fouls than their opponents (twelve). Their shooting accuracy from both field goals and free throws slightly edged out that of North Texas with percentages around forty-three percent and eighty-four percent respectively.

Looking ahead for fans eager to support their team in person or through broadcast networks: The next game for The University Of North Texas Mean Green is set against UTSA Roadrunners at UNT Coliseum in Denton on February twenty-fourth at three o'clock PM Central Time Zone (3:00 PM CT). Fans can catch all live action nationally on ESPNU channel two hundred eight.
