In their last outing on December 14th against Chicago State Cougars, the Wildcats fell just short with a score of 73-75. Despite this loss, there were positive takeaways; notably, they shot an impressive 49 percent from the field and an even more remarkable 47 percent from beyond the arc. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at a solid 1.29, indicating good ball movement and decision-making.

However, it was not all smooth sailing for NW. They struggled from the free-throw line with only a 65 percent success rate and matched Chicago State in turnovers with fourteen each. These are areas that will need tightening up before facing ASU.

Looking back further to December 10th against Detroit Mercy Titans, NW dominated with a commanding victory of 91-59. Their offensive prowess was on full display as they shot nearly 56 percent from the field and had an outstanding assists turnover ratio of almost five assists for every turnover committed.

The most thrilling performance came on December 2nd when NW took down top-ranked Purdue Boilermakers in overtime by scoring more points in paint (38) and capitalizing off turnovers (20 points). This victory showcased what NW is capable of when firing on all cylinders – efficient shooting (47 percent FG), disciplined defense (8 steals), and clutch performance under pressure.

NW's ability to perform against high-caliber opponents like Purdue suggests that they have what it takes to challenge ASU effectively. However, consistency remains key; they must replicate this level of play without faltering as seen against Chicago State Cougars.

The Sun Devils will not make things easy for them; boasting their own set of strengths that could pose challenges for NW's defense. Fans should expect an intense battle where execution during critical moments could tilt the game either way.

As we look towards this exciting encounter between Northwestern Wildcats and Arizona State Sun Devils at Footprint Center in Phoenix, fans can catch all the action live on ESPN2 channel number 209 starting at 8:30 PM Eastern Time on December 21st. Will Northwestern continue its streak of strong performances or will ASU prove too formidable? Only time will tell as both teams vie for supremacy on court amidst roaring fans!
