Can Notre Dame Continue Their Home Court Dominance Against Clemson?

As the Notre Dame Fighting Irish prepare to host the Clemson Tigers at Purcell Pavilion, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain their strong performance on home turf. The Fighting Irish have shown a mixed bag of results in recent games, but there's an upward trend that suggests they could have the upper hand in this matchup.

In their last game against Georgia Tech's Yellow Jackets, Notre Dame secured a narrow victory with 58 points against 55. Despite shooting only 32 percent from the field and a dismal 19 percent from beyond the arc, they managed to pull through thanks to an impressive free-throw percentage of 77 and capitalizing on second-chance points with a total of 20. Their defensive efforts were notable as well, grabbing 40 rebounds and stealing the ball seven times.

The previous home game saw Notre Dame clinch a more comfortable win over Virginia Tech's Hokies with a scoreline of 74-66. The team showed significant improvement in field goal percentage at 49 and was consistent from the free-throw line at around three-quarters success rate. They also demonstrated better ball distribution with assists and maintained pressure resulting in eight steals.

However, an away game against Duke's Blue Devils exposed some weaknesses as Notre Dame fell short by scoring only 53 points to Duke’s 71. A troubling turnover ratio of less than one assist per turnover highlighted issues in ball handling under pressure.

With these trends in mind, fans can anticipate that Notre Dame will look to exploit their rebounding strength and improve shooting accuracy while minimizing turnovers against Clemson Tigers. Playing at Purcell Pavilion has been advantageous for them; thus far, it seems likely that they will leverage this home-court advantage once again.

The upcoming clash is scheduled for March 3rd at Purcell Pavilion in South Bend, Indiana. Fans can catch all the action live on The CW network starting at midnight Eastern Time (00:45 AM).
