The Notre Dame Fighting Irish showcased a resilient offense throughout the game. They maintained a consistent shooting performance with a field goal percentage of 52 and were particularly effective from inside the arc, hitting 57 percent of their two-point attempts. The team's efforts resulted in an impressive 42 points in the paint. Despite being outrebounded by their opponents, who grabbed 39 rebounds to Notre Dame's 28, they managed to keep turnovers low with only ten for the game.

Notre Dame also demonstrated precision from beyond the arc, making seven three-pointers at a rate of 41 percent. Free throws were another area where they showed competence; although not exceptional, they secured a free throw percentage of 68 by making 13 out of their total 19 attempts.

Defensively, however, it was challenging for Notre Dame as they struggled to contain Virginia Tech's offense which displayed superior rebounding prowess on both ends of the court. The Hokies' offensive rebounds stood at an imposing number of fourteen compared to just five by Notre Dame.

Virginia Tech capitalized on second-chance opportunities scoring seventeen second-chance points against eight from Notre Dame. Additionally, fast break situations saw Virginia Tech outperforming with twelve fast break points doubling that of Notre Dame’s six.

Despite these challenges and trailing behind in some statistical categories such as total rebounds and assists turnover ratio where Virginia Tech led with numbers like thirty-nine total rebounds and an assists turnover ratio of 1.5 against Notre Dames' twenty-eight total rebounds and ratio of just over one; it was evident that both teams fought tenaciously as reflected by times tied (seven) and lead changes (five) throughout the contest.

As fans look forward to future games following this intense matchup between conference rivals, they can tune into upcoming broadcasts featuring The Fighting Irish as they continue their season journey filled with determination and spirit.
