The Notre Dame Fighting Irish entered the second half with a promising start, leading by 34 points compared to Wake Forest's 40. However, as play progressed, they struggled to maintain their momentum, adding only 25 additional points to their tally by game end. In contrast, the Demon Deacons secured another 32 points in the second half, bringing their total to an impressive 72 points.

Notre Dame's offensive efforts were led by free throws where they excelled with an outstanding 89 percent completion rate. They managed to sink 25 out of 28 attempts from the line which was a significant contribution to their overall score of 59 points. From beyond the arc and within it though, shooting proved challenging; three-point shots fell at a rate of just 26 percent while two-point attempts had a mere success rate of only 31 percent.

Defensively speaking, Notre Dame gathered a total of six steals and blocked two shots from reaching its mark but still found themselves outpaced by Wake Forest who boasted seven blocks and matched them in steals with six as well. The rebounding battle was closely contested; however, Notre Dame came up short here too with just two fewer rebounds than Wake Forest’s total count at 37.

The Demon Deacons showed dominance inside painting an imposing picture with double Notre Dame’s output—38 points in paint compared to just fourteen for The Fighting Irish—and also outperformed them on fast break opportunities scoring fifteen fast break points over five for Notre Dame.

Wake Forest also demonstrated better ball distribution and care; they notched ten assists against seven from The Fighting Irish and committed fewer turnovers (7) than Notre Dame (10). This careful handling translated into more efficient scoring opportunities for them throughout both halves.

As fans look forward to future games broadcasted live from various venues across America including Capital One Arena where this match took place before an audience of nearly ten thousand spectators—the hope is that The Fighting Irish can regroup and refine their gameplay for better outcomes ahead.
