Notable Performances from Notre Dame


Markus Burton emerged as a standout player for the Fighting Irish, showcasing his scoring ability with an impressive 29 points. His performance was not just limited to scoring; he also contributed four assists and managed three rebounds, alongside one block and one steal. Burton's shooting accuracy was on display as he achieved a 56 percent field goal percentage and an exceptional 90 percent from the free-throw line.


Another notable contribution came from Tae Davis, who added 15 points to Notre Dame's total while securing seven rebounds and distributing three assists. Davis also made his presence felt on defense with one steal.


Kebba Njie provided crucial support in the paint with ten points and four rebounds. His defensive efforts were highlighted by two blocks, contributing significantly to Notre Dame's resistance against Wake Forest's advances.


Wake Forest’s Counterattack


The Demon Deacons demonstrated resilience by overcoming a ten-point deficit to secure victory at home. Their comeback was fueled by strategic plays resulting in 17 points off turnovers compared to only four by Notre Dame. The home team capitalized on second-chance opportunities as well, scoring eleven points from such situations.


Wake Forest’s efficiency from the free-throw line was impeccable, making all nineteen attempts which played a pivotal role in their win. Their balanced attack saw contributions across the board with two players reaching double figures in scoring.
