Ohio State Buckeyes Face Setback at Xfinity Center Against Maryland Terrapins

The Ohio State Buckeyes started strong in the first half, putting up 39 points against the Terrapins' 34. However, maintaining their lead proved difficult as they added only 34 points in the second half while Maryland surged ahead with an additional 46 points. Despite shooting a respectable field goal percentage of around 44 percent and excelling at free throws with an accuracy of approximately 84 percent, it wasn't enough to overcome their opponents.

Key players for the Buckeyes demonstrated solid performance on offense and defense. They made nine three-pointers out of nineteen attempts, achieving about a 47 percent success rate from beyond the arc. The team also managed to block three shots and steal seven times from their opponents during playtime.

However, personal fouls seemed to plague both teams throughout the game; Ohio State accumulated twenty-eight personal fouls while Maryland committed seventeen. This high number of infractions led to one player being fouled out from Ohio State's side.

On rebounding efforts, Ohio State gathered twenty-six rebounds—seven offensive and nineteen defensive—but this was overshadowed by Maryland's total rebound count of forty which included thirteen offensive rebounds contributing significantly to second-chance points.

Despite these challenges faced by Ohio State Buckeyes during this conference game attended by nearly twelve thousand five hundred fans at Xfinity Center in College Park on January eighth at six o'clock PM Eastern Time Zone (ET), there were some positive takeaways such as their fast break points totaling eight and managing thirteen points off turnovers.

Looking ahead after this setback for The Ohio State Buckeyes is another opportunity for redemption as they prepare to host Minnesota Golden Gophers at Value City Arena in Columbus on January twelfth at six thirty PM ET. Fans eager to support can catch live coverage broadcast nationally on Fox Sports one channel two hundred nineteen.
