In their last game against the New Orleans Privateers, the Buckeyes dominated with a 78-36 victory. Their offense was on fire with a field goal percentage of 44 and they were particularly effective from the free-throw line, hitting 78 percent of their shots. They also showcased their defensive prowess by out-rebounding the Privateers 49 to 28 and maintaining an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.45.

The previous away game against UCLA's Bruins saw another win for Ohio State, finishing with a score of 67-60. The team's two-point shooting was remarkable at nearly 59 percent accuracy, contributing significantly to their points in paint. Despite fewer three-pointers made than usual, they managed to maintain control throughout the game.

However, in an earlier conference game against Penn State Nittany Lions at Bryce Jordan Center, Ohio State fell short by just three points in an intense battle that ended with an 80-83 loss. Even though they lost this close contest, they still showed strong offensive skills with a field goal percentage of around 45 and excelled beyond the arc with a three-point shooting percentage over 42.

These past performances indicate that while Ohio State has had some setbacks this season, they've consistently shown strength in scoring inside and maintaining solid defense through rebounds and steals.

Fans should expect Ohio State to leverage these trends during their upcoming home game against Illinois Fighting Illini. Playing on familiar ground at Value City Arena could provide them additional confidence as they aim for another win in front of their supporters.

The upcoming match is scheduled for January 31st and will be broadcasted on Peacock network for fans who wish to watch it live or online from Columbus or elsewhere.
