Josh Ojianwuna was instrumental during this period, contributing significantly to Ohio State's dominance in the paint where they scored 32 points overall. The team's defense also shone brightly as they managed to force turnovers and capitalize on them effectively.

Meanwhile, Maryland struggled against Ohio State's relentless pressure defense which led them into committing numerous turnovers—16 in total—which were converted into valuable points by the visitors. Despite efforts from key players like Isaiah Watts trying hard for comebacks through fast breaks or three-pointers attempts; it wasn't enough against such well-coordinated opposition tactics employed by Coach Holtmann’s squad.
