The game unfolded at James H. Hilton Coliseum in Ames, where 14,267 spectators witnessed an intense battle on the court. The first half saw the Oklahoma team trailing with only 20 points against Iowa State's 25. As play resumed after halftime, both teams fought hard but it was ultimately the Cyclones who extended their lead by adding another 33 points to their score compared to Oklahoma's additional 25.

The Sooners struggled from beyond the arc throughout the game with only an eighteen percent success rate from three-point attempts and managed a thirty-three percent field goal percentage overall. Their free throw performance was slightly better at sixty-three percent but still not enough to close in on Iowa State's lead.

Defensively, Oklahoma put up six blocks and grabbed two steals but committed eighteen personal fouls along the way. They also had ten assists during play which did not translate into sufficient offensive momentum as they turned over possession fourteen times.

On rebounds, Oklahoma showed some strength with thirty-five total rebounds; twenty-six being defensive and seven offensive rebounds contributing to second-chance opportunities that resulted in seven second-chance points for them.

Iowa State displayed strong defense as well by blocking six shots from Oklahoma and stealing possession eight times which led them to thirteen points off turnovers – five more than what Oklahoma managed off turnovers themselves.

As for individual performances or pivotal plays that could have swayed momentum for either side are not detailed within this report due to restrictions on repeating figures or events already mentioned above.

Looking ahead after this tough outing, fans of The University of Oklahoma can mark their calendars for when The Sooners will host Houston Cougars at Lloyd Noble Center in Norman on March 2nd at 7:00 PM local time.
