Despite these individual performances, overall team efficiency was lower than needed for playoff success. The Sooners had an efficiency rating of 52 compared to UConn’s more robust rating of 71. This gap underscored differences in execution between both teams during crucial moments.


UConn Huskies' Strategy Pays Off


On UConn’s side, their strategy focused on maximizing opportunities inside paint where they scored 32 points against Oklahoma’s defense. Their ability to convert two-point attempts at a rate of 58 percent significantly contributed to their victory margin.

The Huskies also capitalized on second-chance points totaling up to seventeen thanks largely due to their offensive rebounding effort which saw them grab twelve rebounds over Oklahoma’s ten offensive boards.


As both teams fought valiantly until final buzzer sounded off; it was clear that UConn had managed maintain slight edge necessary secure win advance within NCAA Men's Basketball playoffs while bringing an end Sooner’s season aspirations.
