Cowboys Corralled at Moody Center by Longhorns in Conference Showdown

In a recent face-off at the Moody Center, the Oklahoma State Cowboys were outscored by the Texas Longhorns with a final tally of 89-75. The Cowboys now stand with an additional loss to their record, while the Longhorns have notched another victory. The game saw both teams fiercely competing, but ultimately it was the home team that secured the win.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys put up a valiant effort against their ranked opponents. They managed to score 32 points in the first half and improved to 43 points in the second half, totaling 75 points for the game. Despite this increase in scoring after halftime, it wasn't enough to overcome their rivals' offense. The Cowboys shot 42 percent from field goal range and made eight out of twenty-six three-point attempts, resulting in a three-point percentage of roughly 31 percent.


On defense, Oklahoma State recorded five blocks and seven steals during playtime but committed twenty-six personal fouls which may have hindered their momentum. Offensively they had sixteen assists but turned over the ball sixteen times as well; maintaining an assist-to-turnover ratio of one.


The Texas Longhorns demonstrated why they are one of the top-ranked teams with an impressive display on both ends of the court. They scored forty points before halftime and increased that output to forty-nine points in second-half play for a total scoreline advantage at eighty-nine points. Their shooting accuracy was notable as they hit fifty-one percent from field goal range and were exceptional from beyond-the-arc making eight out of thirteen attempts – translating into approximately sixty-two percent accuracy from three-point land.


Texas also excelled at free throws with an eighty-five percent success rate compared to seventy-five percent by Oklahoma State. Additionally, Texas capitalized on turnovers scoring twenty points off them while also grabbing forty-one rebounds compared to twenty-seven by Oklahoma State which contributed significantly towards their victory margin.
