Oklahoma State Cowboys Face Off Against Kansas Jayhawks at Gallagher-Iba Arena

The Oklahoma State Cowboys, with a record of 0-0, faced the Kansas Jayhawks, ranked fifth nationally and holding a record of 0-0, in a conference game at Gallagher-Iba Arena. The final score read 87-76 in favor of the visiting team.

In front of an energetic crowd of 11,165 fans, the Oklahoma State Cowboys put up a valiant effort against the Kansas Jayhawks. Despite trailing by two points at halftime with a scoreline showing 39 for the visitors and 37 for the home side, the Cowboys could not overcome their opponents' offensive surge in the second half.


The Cowboys showcased their shooting skills with an impressive field goal percentage of fifty percent on fifty-four attempts and were particularly effective from beyond the arc with a forty-seven percent success rate on seventeen three-point attempts. They also made nineteen out of thirty-seven two-point shots which translates to fifty-one percent accuracy. From free throw line they managed to secure fourteen out of twenty-two opportunities giving them sixty-four percent completion rate.


On defense, Oklahoma State managed to block two shots and steal twice from their opponents but struggled to contain Kansas' fast-paced offense which scored twenty fast break points. The home team did manage to gather more total rebounds than their adversaries with thirty-three compared to twenty-nine by Kansas.


Kansas Jayhawks demonstrated why they are one of top teams in nation by converting fifty-four percent field goals on sixty-five attempts including eight successful three-pointers out six hundred forty-four percent shooting from long range. Their free throw performance was slightly less efficient than usual but still solid at sixty-nine percent making nine out thirteen attempts.


The Jayhawks also excelled in distributing ball as evidenced by their twenty-six assists while maintaining an assist-turnover ratio close to three. They capitalized on turnovers scoring sixteen points off fifteen Cowboy turnovers while only turning over ball ten times themselves.


Looking ahead for Oklahoma State Cowboys will be another challenging matchup as they travel to face TCU Horned Frogs at Schollmaier Arena located in Fort Worth Texas. This game is scheduled for February eighteen at seven PM Central Time and will be broadcasted live via ESPN+ internet network allowing fans across country tune into action as it unfolds.
