Gallagher-Iba Arena Showdown: Oklahoma State Cowboys vs West Virginia Mountaineers

In their last game on December 20th against the Wofford Terriers, the Cowboys showcased a balanced attack and a solid defense that led them to a 76-70 victory. Their ability to convert from beyond the arc was particularly noteworthy as they hit an impressive 45 percent of their three-point attempts. With such sharpshooting prowess, it's clear that perimeter scoring will be one of OKST's key weapons against WVU.

The team's assist-to-turnover ratio stood at 1.62 in that game, indicating efficient ball movement and smart playmaking – factors that will undoubtedly play a crucial role in breaking down WVU's defense. Moreover, OKST demonstrated tenacity on defense with 10 steals and capitalized on turnovers by scoring 24 points off them.

Another recent performance worth noting was against Oral Roberts on December 17th where OKST dominated with an 81-60 win. They shot an even more remarkable field goal percentage of 50 and continued their trend of high assists with a total of 24 for the game.

However, it wasn't just offense where OKST shone; they also outrebounded Oral Roberts by nine boards which could be critical when facing WVU who are known for their physicality under the rim.

While statistics favor Oklahoma State Cowboys going into this game, basketball is unpredictable and WVU should not be underestimated. The Mountaineers have shown resilience throughout the season and possess players capable of taking over games themselves.

It is essential for OSKT to maintain defensive pressure without fouling excessively as they did in both previous games mentioned above where personal fouls were kept below average – this discipline will need to continue if they want to contain WVU’s offensive threats.

Looking ahead at what promises to be an enthralling contest between these two teams, it seems likely that if Oklahoma State can replicate their recent form – especially from behind the three-point line – then victory should follow suit in front of their home crowd.

Fans eager not only witness but also support OSKT can catch all action live on January 27th at Gallagher-Iba Arena starting at 2:00 PM CST or tune into ESPN+ online for those who prefer watching digitally.
