Cowboys Edge Wildcats in a Nail-Biter at Gallagher-Iba Arena

The Oklahoma State Cowboys emerged victorious with a tight 75-72 win over the Kansas State Wildcats, improving their season record to an even split. The Wildcats' record took a hit, now standing at a less favorable tally. The game, which unfolded at the historic Gallagher-Iba Arena, saw both teams locked in an intense battle that was reflected in the final score.

The Cowboys showcased their defensive skills with an impressive six blocks and matched the Wildcats' five steals. Offensively, they were led by their ability to distribute the ball effectively, racking up 17 assists compared to 12 by the Wildcats. This team effort was further highlighted by Oklahoma State's higher assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.7 against Kansas State's 0.92.


Oklahoma State's shooting was consistent throughout the game as they made 44 percent of their field goals and were particularly effective from the free-throw line with a strong performance of 78 percent accuracy. Their two-point shooting percentage stood close to that of Kansas State at 52 percent.


In terms of rebounding, both teams were neck and neck; however, Oklahoma State fell slightly short with a total of 31 rebounds against Kansas State's more robust collection of 36 rebounds. Despite this disadvantage on the boards, Oklahoma State capitalized on turnovers scoring 16 points off them while conceding only thirteen points from their own turnovers.


The second half proved decisive for Oklahoma as they outscored Kansas by one point which ultimately sealed their victory. Both teams had nine three-pointers each but it was Oklahoma who made better use of second-chance opportunities scoring eleven second-chance points.
