Ole Miss Rebels Outpaced in Baton Rouge Showdown

In a clash of collegiate basketball titans, the Ole Miss Rebels, ranked 22nd, faced off against the unranked LSU Tigers at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The Rebels' record now stands at 80-89 after a hard-fought game that saw them fall to their opponents.

Ole Miss Rebels VS LSU Tigers

The Ole Miss Rebels started strong with an impressive first half, scoring 33 points to LSU's 35. However, it was in the second half where the Tigers took control of the game by adding an additional 54 points to their score compared to Ole Miss's 47. Despite their efforts, the Rebels could not close down the gap and ultimately conceded defeat.

The Rebels showcased a commendable performance from beyond the arc and at the free-throw line. They converted six three-pointers with a shooting accuracy of twenty-five percent and excelled in free throws with an outstanding ninety percent completion rate. The team also demonstrated agility on fast breaks, accumulating twenty-one fast break points throughout the contest.

Defensively, Ole Miss managed five blocks and eight steals but struggled with personal fouls committing nineteen over four quarters. Their rebounding effort was notable as they grabbed thirty-five rebounds; however, this was overshadowed by LSU's forty-two rebounds which contributed significantly to their victory.

One area where Ole Miss shone was in capitalizing on turnovers; they scored sixteen points off turnovers created by ten player takeaways. Yet this aggressive play did not translate into overall ball control as evidenced by their ten total turnovers during gameplay.

Despite these challenges, individual performances stood out for Ole Miss – particularly from players who fought tirelessly under pressure and managed eighteen two-point field goals out of forty-one attempts resulting in a forty-four percent success rate inside paint where they scored twenty-eight points.

Looking ahead for fans of The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) team: The next challenge awaits as they prepare to face Auburn Tigers at Neville Arena located in Auburn AL on January 20th at 7:30 PM local time (Central Time). This upcoming game will be broadcast nationally on SEC Network channel six hundred eleven for fans eager to follow every play live from wherever they are.
