The game was tightly contested from start to finish, with both teams showcasing their determination and skill on the court. The Rebels started strong in the first half, putting up 31 points against the Aggies' 29. Defensively, Ole Miss managed five blocks and six steals during the game while committing nineteen personal fouls and one flagrant foul without any player being ejected or fouled out. They also dominated inside with twenty-four points in paint and capitalized on turnovers by scoring thirteen points off them.


Rebounding played an essential role for both teams; however, it was Ole Miss who gathered thirty-four rebounds compared to Texas A&M's forty-two rebounds – nineteen defensive boards coupled with ten offensive ones for Ole Miss showed their hustle on both ends of the floor.


The team's distribution skills were evident as they racked up fifteen assists throughout play while maintaining an assists turnover ratio of 1.36 despite having eleven turnovers themselves.
