Can Ole Miss Rebels Ride the Momentum Against Alabama Crimson Tide?

As the Ole Miss Rebels gear up to host the Alabama Crimson Tide at The Pavilion at Ole Miss, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Rebels have been on a rollercoaster this season, but their recent performance suggests they might just have what it takes to topple their upcoming opponents.

In their last game on February 18th against the Missouri Tigers, MISS showcased a remarkable comeback in the second half, outscoring MIZZ by six points and securing a narrow victory with 79 points to 76. This was no fluke; it was a testament to their resilience and ability to adjust strategies mid-game. Their three-point shooting was particularly impressive, hitting an outstanding 52 percent from beyond the arc.

The Rebels' defense also stepped up when it mattered most. With four blocks and six steals in that game alone, they demonstrated that they can disrupt opponents' plays effectively. Moreover, their assist-to-turnover ratio of 1.45 shows an improving synergy among players – something that will be crucial against ALA's formidable lineup.

However, looking back at MISS's away game against Kentucky Wildcats on February 14th reveals some concerns. Despite putting up a good fight and scoring consistently in both halves for a total of 63 points, they fell short against UK's more efficient offense which scored 75 points. The Wildcats capitalized on turnovers and dominated inside with superior rebounding.

Against South Carolina Gamecocks earlier in February (6th), MISS again showed promise despite falling short by three points (65-68). They shot over fifty percent from both two-point range and overall field goals – an offensive efficiency that could spell trouble for any defense if sustained over time.

The key takeaway is consistency; if Ole Miss can maintain their shooting prowess while tightening up defensively as shown in these past games, they stand more than just a fighting chance against Alabama Crimson Tide.

MISS fans should expect an intense battle come February 28th at The Pavilion at Ole Miss where home-court advantage could play into Rebel hands. It’s going to be about who wants it more – can MISS ride this wave of momentum or will ALA prove too strong?
