Ole Miss Outlasts Missouri in a Showdown at Mizzou Arena, 84-78

In a closely contested battle at Mizzou Arena, the Ole Miss Rebels edged out the Missouri Tigers with an 84-78 victory. The Rebels improved their record to an undisclosed number of wins and losses, while the Tigers' record also remains unspecified. The game saw the Rebels take an early lead with 45 points in the first half against the Tigers' 26, but both teams ramped up their offense after halftime with Ole Miss scoring another 39 points and Missouri surging to add 52 points.

The Ole Miss Rebels showcased a balanced offensive effort that led to their triumph over the Missouri Tigers. With a field goal percentage of fifty percent and converting sixty-five percent from two-point range, they demonstrated efficient shooting throughout the game. The team's tenacity was on display as they made twenty-eight free throws out of forty-two attempts, hitting sixty-seven percent from the line.

Defensively, Ole Miss was just as impressive. They tallied six blocks and matched that number in steals which contributed to nineteen points off turnovers. Their rebounding efforts were notable as well; they grabbed thirty-five total rebounds including eleven offensive boards which helped them score twenty-one second-chance points.

One key factor for Ole Miss was their ability to spread out their offense effectively; thirteen assists were recorded by players wearing Rebel colors. Despite committing sixteen turnovers themselves, they managed to maintain control of the game flow through timely plays and solid defense.

On the other side of court, despite falling short on this occasion, Missouri had its moments too. They shot an impressive fifty-four percent from field goals overall and even better from two-point range at sixty-eight percent accuracy. Their efforts inside painted areas were strong as well with thirty-six points coming from within paint.

Missouri also showed hustle on defense with nine steals contributing to twenty-four points off turnovers but it wasn't enough against a determined Rebel squad who held onto their lead until final buzzer sounded.

Looking ahead for fans of Ole Miss Rebels basketball team: The next challenge will be away against Georgia Bulldogs at Stegeman Coliseum in Athens on March 5th at 6:00 PM local time (Eastern Time).
