The Ole Miss Rebels came into this game looking to make a statement. They put up a valiant effort, scoring 71 points with a notable performance from beyond the arc and inside the paint. The team's fast break points were impressive at 22, showcasing their ability to capitalize on quick transitions. However, it was not enough to secure a win against a tough Texas A&M squad.

The Rebels shot efficiently from two-point range at 55 percent but struggled from three-point territory hitting only 29 percent of their attempts. From the charity stripe, they managed to convert 57 percent of their free throws. Despite these challenges, they demonstrated strong teamwork with 16 assists and showed defensive prowess by accumulating seven blocks and four steals during the contest.

Rebounding was an area where Ole Miss could have used improvement as they grabbed only eight offensive rebounds compared to Texas A&M's significant tally of 16 offensive boards which contributed to their substantial second chance points total of 21. Personal fouls were also an issue for the Rebels as they committed a total of 27 fouls over the course of play.

On defense, while managing seven blocks is commendable for Ole Miss, it was overshadowed by allowing Texas A&M to score more than half its points in paint (36) and giving up crucial turnovers that led to thirteen points for their opponents.

Texas A&M's overall field goal percentage stood lower than that of Ole Miss at just 37 percent; however, they excelled in drawing fouls and making free throws with an impressive rate of 73 percent from the line which played a key role in extending their lead.
