Oregon State Beavers Edge Out Trojans in Overtime at Gill Coliseum

The Oregon State Beavers and the Trojans clashed at Gill Coliseum, with the home team securing a narrow victory of 81-80. The Beavers now stand with an improved record, while the Trojans face a setback after this intense encounter.

The game was a hard-fought battle that extended into double overtime before the Oregon State Beavers emerged victorious. The home team displayed resilience and skill throughout the match, which was reflected in their superior field goal percentage of 42 compared to the Trojans' 34. The Beavers also excelled in two-point shots, making 20 out of 38 attempts for an impressive conversion rate of approximately 53 percent.

Defensively, the Oregon State team showcased their dominance by blocking eight shots against just one from their opponents. This defensive solidity contributed significantly to their win as they limited the Trojans' scoring opportunities inside. On offense, points in paint were crucial for the Beavers as they scored 36 compared to Troy's 28.

The free throw line was another area where both teams had numerous chances due to a high number of personal fouls; however, it was Oregon State who capitalized better by making 26 out of their total attempts at a rate of approximately 67 percent. Although three-pointers were not falling as frequently for them with only five made from twenty-one attempts (approximately 24 percent), they managed to maintain pressure on Troy throughout.

Turnovers were equally problematic for both sides with each committing twenty-one; nevertheless, it was how each team exploited these turnovers that made a difference. The Beavers scored an impressive total of twenty-six points off turnovers while holding Troy to fourteen points from similar opportunities.

Rebounding played its part too; although narrowly outdone by Troy's forty-seven rebounds with forty-three themselves, it did not deter Oregon State's efforts on either end of the court. They fought hard under both baskets and secured nine offensive rebounds which led to six second-chance points.

As fans look ahead eagerly, they can mark their calendars for when Gill Coliseum will once again be buzzing with excitement as it hosts another game featuring Oregon State Beavers against Appalachian State Mountaineers on November fifteen at eleven PM Eastern Time (eight PM Pacific Time). Fans unable to attend can catch all action live on Pac-12 Network where every pass and basket will be broadcasted right into their living rooms or wherever they choose to watch this anticipated matchup.
