The Beavers' record now stands at 0-1 as they opened their season with this intense conference game. Despite the loss, the home team displayed resilience and skill throughout the match.

Oregon State Beavers VS Stanford Cardinal

The game was held at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis, where 3,423 fans witnessed an intense showdown that saw eight ties and nine lead changes. The Beavers started strong with a first-half performance that put them ahead by five points. However, the Cardinal managed to close this gap and eventually took the game into overtime.

In terms of offensive execution, Oregon State shot an impressive 51 percent from the field on 61 attempts and converted 44 percent of their three-point shots. They also made good use of their free throws, hitting 70 percent from the line. The Beavers were particularly effective in scoring within paint where they racked up 40 points.

Defensively, Oregon State outdid themselves with nine steals and three blocks during the game but committed a total of seventeen turnovers which slightly eclipsed their defensive efforts. Their rebounding was nearly matched by Stanford's with only one less total rebound at thirty-one for Oregon State compared to thirty-two for Stanford.

One area where Oregon State excelled was second-chance points; they capitalized on these opportunities to score nine points off them. However, it wasn't enough to overcome Stanford's offense which proved slightly more efficient in crucial moments.

The Cardinal demonstrated strong teamwork with twenty assists leading to many scoring opportunities including forty-four points in paint and sixteen off turnovers caused by fourteen Beaver turnovers. They also had a solid shooting night making fifty-eight percent of two-point attempts and forty percent from beyond the arc.

As both teams exhausted their remaining timeouts during regulation time and overtime play continued without interruption until Stanford secured its four-point victory margin over Oregon State.

Looking ahead for Oregon State Beavers fans who want to continue supporting their team can mark January 18th on their calendars when ORST will face Utah Utes away at Jon M. Huntsman Center located in Salt Lake City; tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM Mountain Time (MT).
