Beavers' Rally Falls Short Against Huskies at Gill Coliseum

The Oregon State Beavers faced a challenging contest against the Washington Huskies, culminating in a 67-55 outcome that favored the visitors. The Beavers now stand with an unaltered record, while the Huskies improved theirs. The game unfolded at Gill Coliseum, where 3,675 spectators witnessed a hard-fought battle on the court.

Washington Huskies VS Oregon State Beavers

The first half saw the Beavers trailing with only 22 points to their name compared to the Huskies' commanding 42. Despite an improved offensive effort in the second half, where they scored 33 points, it was not enough to close down their opponents who added another 25 points to their tally. The home team's shooting accuracy from within the arc was notably lower than usual at just 35 percent and even though they excelled from the free-throw line with an impressive accuracy of 91 percent, it wasn't sufficient to turn the tide.

Defensively, Oregon State managed eight steals and one block but struggled on rebounds with only four offensive and twenty-three defensive boards contributing to a total of thirty-two rebounds for them compared to thirty-eight by Washington. This discrepancy played a role in limiting second-chance opportunities for Oregon State.

On offense for Oregon State Beavers, three-point attempts were made twenty-two times but only seven found their mark resulting in a three-point shooting percentage of just over thirty percent. Their overall field goal percentage stood at thirty-four percent as they made nineteen out of fifty-six attempts.

Washington's performance was marked by efficiency from two-point range where they shot fifty percent and also performed well beyond the arc hitting eight out of twenty-four attempts which translated into a three-point shooting percentage of thirty-three percent. They also capitalized on turnovers scoring ten points off turnovers while Oregon State managed six.

Looking ahead for Oregon State Beavers fans is an away game against Arizona State Sun Devils scheduled for February 14th at Desert Financial Arena located in Tempe. Fans can catch this matchup live on Pac-12 Network starting at 7:00 PM local time as both teams look forward to taking center stage once again.
