Oregon State Beavers Stumble at Desert Financial Arena Against Arizona State Sun Devils

The Oregon State Beavers, with a record of 0-1, faced off against the Arizona State Sun Devils in a conference game that ended with the home team outscoring the visitors 79-61. The Beavers started strong, matching the Sun Devils point for point in the first half, both teams securing 33 points. However, as play progressed into the second half, the Sun Devils surged ahead to finish with an additional 46 points to their score while holding Oregon State to just 28.

Oregon State Beavers VS Arizona State Sun Devils

At Desert Financial Arena in Tempe, Arizona State's offense proved too potent for Oregon State. The home team boasted an impressive field goal percentage of 58 percent and was particularly dominant inside the paint where they scored 46 points. Their two-point shooting was remarkable as well; they made an astounding 72 percent of their attempts from close range.

The Beavers' efforts were led by their ability to distribute the ball effectively as evidenced by their total of 15 assists. They also showed resilience on defense with six steals and one block throughout the game. Despite these efforts, turnovers were a challenge for Oregon State; they gave up possession a total of 14 times which translated into eight points off turnovers for Arizona State.

Oregon State's shooting from beyond the arc struggled at only a rate of success at around one out of four attempts (28 percent). Inside scoring was more effective for them with twenty-six points coming from within that area and overall field goal accuracy standing at a respectable but not sufficient rate (45 percent). Free throw opportunities were limited and only moderately successful; six out of ten free throws found their mark (60 percent).

Rebounding was another area where Oregon state could not gain an advantage over Arizona state who secured three more rebounds than them over both halves combined (31-28). This included both offensive and defensive ends where Oregon had eight offensive rebounds contributing to six second-chance points but fell short compared to Arizona's rebounding performance.

Looking ahead after this tough road loss, fans can catch The Oregon State Beavers next facing off against their rivals – The Oregon Ducks – on February 17th at Gill Coliseum in Corvallis. This upcoming game is scheduled for a tip-off time at around seven o'clock PM Pacific Time and will be broadcasted live on Pac-12 Network for fans unable to attend in person.
