Can the Oregon State Beavers Upset Stanford Cardinal at Maples Pavilion?

As the Oregon State Beavers prepare to face off against the Stanford Cardinal, fans are eager to see if their team can pull off an upset at Maples Pavilion. The Beavers have had a rocky season, with recent games highlighting both their strengths and weaknesses.

On February 11, in a home game against the Washington Huskies, ORST fell short with a final score of 55-67. Despite an impressive free throw percentage of 91 percent and eight steals, they struggled from the field with only a 34 percent shooting rate and were outrebounded by six boards. This loss showcased that while they can perform well under pressure at the line, converting possessions into points is an area needing improvement.

Just two days prior on February 9 against the Washington State Cougars, ORST showed resilience in another home game but again came up short with a score of 58-64. They improved their field goal percentage to 45 percent and managed to secure five blocks defensively. However, turnovers were costly as they matched their opponent's total of thirteen.

The most telling performance came on February 4 when ORST visited USC Trojans' territory. The Beavers scored only 54 points compared to USC's commanding 82 points. A low three-point percentage (28 percent) combined with being heavily outrebounded (24 rebounds for ORST vs. USC's impressive tally of 44) led to this significant defeat.

The upcoming game poses several challenges for ORST; however, it also presents opportunities for redemption. To succeed against Stanford Cardinal at Maples Pavilion on February 24th at 2:00 PM PST – broadcasted on Pac-12 Network – Oregon State must focus on improving its shooting accuracy from beyond the arc and securing more rebounds both defensively and offensively.

Stanford will be no easy opponent; they have shown consistency in their gameplay throughout the season which means that OSRT needs not only skill but also determination if they are going to compete effectively as guests in this matchup.

Fans looking forward to seeing whether or not Oregon State can turn around its fortunes should tune into Pac-12 Network or attend Maples Pavilion where all will be decided come tip-off time.
