The Penn State Nittany Lions put up a resilient fight throughout the game. They managed to score 34 points in the first half and added another 35 in the second, totaling 69 for the game. Their shooting from inside the arc was notably efficient with a field goal percentage of 57 from two-point range. From beyond the arc, they made nine three-pointers on a shooting percentage of 32.

Defensively, both teams recorded two blocks each and were nearly equal in steals with Penn State managing two against Michigan's four. However, personal fouls proved costly for Penn State as they committed 20 compared to Michigan's 16. This allowed Michigan to capitalize on free throws; they attempted 25 and made 17.

The Wolverines had an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of almost four assists for every turnover which contributed significantly to their offensive flow and ultimately their higher point total of 79 points by game end. They also outrebounded Penn State by securing a total of six offensive rebounds which led to ten second-chance points.

Penn State showed strength under pressure as well; despite trailing at times during play, they kept turnovers low at eight while maintaining an assist-to-turnover ratio close to one. Their efforts were highlighted by scoring five fast break points and adding four second-chance points thanks to offensive rebounding efforts.

Looking ahead, fans can anticipate seeing more action from their team when The Penn State Nittany Lions host Purdue Boilermakers at Palestra in Philadelphia on January 8th at approximately six o'clock Eastern Time (ET).
