Pittsburgh Panthers Dominate at Petersen Events Center in Men's Basketball Showdown

The Pittsburgh Panthers secured a commanding victory over the Purdue Fort Wayne Mastodons with a final score of 62-48. The Panthers' season record now stands at an impressive 1-0, while the Mastodons fall to 0-1.

In front of a home crowd at the Petersen Events Center, the Pittsburgh Panthers showcased their defensive strength by out-rebounding their opponents with a total of 54 rebounds compared to the Mastodons' 33. The Panthers also demonstrated superior shooting accuracy from within the paint, contributing to their overall field goal percentage of 36 percent. Their two-point shot success rate was notable at approximately 48 percent.


The offensive efforts were led by Pittsburgh's players who managed to score in double digits. The team also excelled in sharing the ball, as evidenced by their total assist count of 13.
