The Pittsburgh Panthers started strong, leading at halftime with 43 points against Duke's 32. However, despite their initial advantage and shooting an impressive 53 percent from two-point range, they could not maintain their lead in the second half. The team's overall field goal percentage was recorded at 43 percent for the game. They also made six three-pointers out of twenty-two attempts which translated to a three-point shooting percentage of approximately 27 percent.

The Panthers demonstrated solid defensive efforts with nine steals and five blocks during the game but were outrebounded by Duke's formidable presence under both baskets; they collected only seven offensive rebounds compared to Duke's twenty and had eighteen defensive rebounds while Duke secured twenty-seven.

Offensively, Pittsburgh managed to score twenty points in paint and capitalized on turnovers by adding thirteen points off them. Their free throw performance was notable as well; they made thirteen out of seventeen attempts from the line which is about a 77 percent success rate.

On Duke's side, their comeback was marked by an aggressive second half where they scored forty-five points. Their fast break execution proved critical as they amassed twenty-one fast break points over Pittsburgh’s eight. Moreover, their ability to draw fouls led them to attempt more free throws; making twenty-three out of twenty-seven shots gave them an excellent free throw percentage of approximately 85 percent.

Duke also excelled in scoring opportunities following rebounds with nineteen second-chance points compared to Pittsburgh’s eight. Both teams ended up committing numerous personal fouls – each tallying up twenty-one – but it was rebounding where Duke had a distinct edge totaling fifty-one rebounds across both ends of the floor.

Looking ahead for fans eager to follow their team’s progress: The next challenge for Pittsburgh will be against Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Hank McCamish Pavilion located in Atlanta on January 14th at around 8 PM Eastern Time Zone (ET). This upcoming contest can be viewed nationally on ACC Network channel six hundred twelve for those wishing to tune in and support their team from afar.
