In front of a packed crowd at Mackey Arena, where 14,876 fans gathered to witness the contest, the Purdue Boilermakers showcased their dominance on both ends of the court. The home team's offensive efficiency was on full display as they shot an impressive 49 percent from the field and a remarkable 68 percent from two-point range. Their scoring was well-distributed among players, but it was their points in paint that stood out with a total of 42.

This defensive pressure contributed to turning over the ball only seven times compared to thirteen by Florida A&M. Moreover, capitalizing on these opportunities led to twenty-two points off turnovers for Purdue.
Rebounding played a significant role in this matchup as well. The Boilermakers outrebounded their opponents by a wide margin with forty-three total rebounds against twenty-five by Florida A&M Rattlers. Of those forty-three rebounds for Purdue, fourteen were offensive boards which led directly to twenty-two second-chance points – showcasing their tenacity and effort on every possession.
