The Purdue Boilermakers, ranked first, continued their impressive season with a commanding victory over the Florida A&M Rattlers at Mackey Arena. The Boilermakers now stand with an unblemished record of 1-0, while the Rattlers fall to 0-1 after the game ended 82-49 in favor of the home team.

In front of a packed crowd at Mackey Arena, where 14,876 fans gathered to witness the contest, the Purdue Boilermakers showcased their dominance on both ends of the court. The home team's offensive efficiency was on full display as they shot an impressive 49 percent from the field and a remarkable 68 percent from two-point range. Their scoring was well-distributed among players, but it was their points in paint that stood out with a total of 42.

The defensive prowess for Purdue was equally notable; they amassed nine blocks and six steals over the course of play. This defensive pressure contributed to turning over the ball only seven times compared to thirteen by Florida A&M. Moreover, capitalizing on these opportunities led to twenty-two points off turnovers for Purdue.

Rebounding played a significant role in this matchup as well. The Boilermakers outrebounded their opponents by a wide margin with forty-three total rebounds against twenty-five by Florida A&M Rattlers. Of those forty-three rebounds for Purdue, fourteen were offensive boards which led directly to twenty-two second-chance points – showcasing their tenacity and effort on every possession.

Assists are often indicative of good ball movement and teamwork; here too Purdue excelled with seventeen assists which reflected an efficient offense that moved well without relying solely on individual talent. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at an admirable figure of approximately two point four three.

On Florida A&M's side despite shooting thirty-five percent from two-point range and thirty-two percent overall field goal percentage they managed an exceptional ninety-two percent free throw accuracy but it wasn't enough against such formidable opposition as Purdue.

As we look ahead after this convincing performance by The Boilermakers will next face off against Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Mackey Arena once again where fans can catch all action live nationally on BTN channel six hundred ten scheduled for January third at seven PM Eastern Time.
