The Purdue Boilermakers set the tone early on by securing a lead in the first half with 47 points to Iowa's 34. They maintained their dominance into the second half, adding another 37 points to their tally. The team's offensive efforts were bolstered by sinking nine out of 26 three-point attempts and achieving a field goal percentage of 45. Inside scoring was pivotal for Purdue as they racked up 36 points in the paint.

Purdue's defense was just as formidable as its offense; they amassed six blocks and four steals throughout the game. Their defensive rebounding was particularly strong, pulling down 31 boards on that end and adding another 19 on offense for a total of 50 rebounds—more than double that of Iowa's total rebounds at just 24.

The Boilermaker’s execution on both ends of the court was reflected in their assist-to-turnover ratio which stood at an efficient rate of about two assists for every turnover committed (1.73). This disciplined play limited their turnovers to only eleven while distributing nineteen assists across players, showcasing effective ball movement and teamwork.

On individual performances, Purdue showed depth with multiple players contributing significantly across various statistical categories including scoring, rebounding and assists which underscored a well-rounded team effort against a determined opponent.

The Iowa Hawkeyes did not go down without showing resilience; they managed to steal possession six times from Purdue and scored seven fast break points indicating moments where they capitalized on transition opportunities. Despite being outrebounded by Purdue’s aggressive board work, Iowa kept personal fouls relatively low at nineteen compared to fifteen from Purdue but ultimately could not keep pace with Boilermaker’s scoring efficiency.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought victory on enemy territory, fans can mark their calendars for when the Purdue Boilermakers will face off against Michigan Wolverines back home at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette. This encounter is scheduled for January twenty-third at nine o'clock PM Eastern Time and will be broadcasted via Peacock network online platform for enthusiasts unable to attend in person.
