At Mackey Arena, home of the Purdue Boilermakers, a crowd of 14,876 witnessed a display of offensive might as the home team put up an astonishing 99 points against their conference rivals. The first half set the tone with Purdue scoring 49 points and maintaining that momentum to add another 50 in the second half. Their shooting was on point with a field goal percentage of fifty-two and an exceptional three-point shooting performance at sixty-seven percent accuracy.

The Boilermakers excelled not just in scoring but also shared the ball effectively with twenty-four assists leading to an impressive assist-to-turnover ratio of four. This teamwork was evident as they outmaneuvered Michigan's defense throughout both halves. On defense themselves, Purdue managed five steals and blocked four shots from Michigan while committing seventeen personal fouls.

Purdue's dominance extended to rebounding where they outperformed Michigan by securing forty-six rebounds compared to thirty-seven by their opponents. This included fourteen offensive rebounds which contributed significantly to sixteen second-chance points for Purdue.

Michigan's efforts were led by their ability to convert free throws at eighty percent efficiency but it wasn't enough against Purdue’s relentless attack. They managed sixty-seven points for the game with forty-two coming in a more aggressive second half after trailing behind at halftime with only twenty-five points scored.

Despite this effort from Michigan and making nine three-pointers at thirty-one percent accuracy overall, they struggled from two-point range making only fourteen out of thirty-nine attempts which translated into a mere thirty-six percent success rate.

Looking ahead for fans of Purdue basketball: The next challenge will be on January 28th when they face off against Rutgers Scarlet Knights at Jersey Mike's Arena located in Piscataway, New Jersey. This game is scheduled for one o'clock post meridiem Eastern Time and will be broadcast nationally on FOX network television channels for those eager to follow along live.
