The Scarlet Knights' offensive efficiency was evident as they shot an impressive 52 percent from the field and an even more remarkable 58 percent from two-point range. Their scoring was bolstered by a significant 48 points contribution in the paint, underscoring their ability to penetrate the Wolverines' defenses effectively. Moreover, Rutgers capitalized on turnovers, adding 16 points off Michigan's mistakes.


Defensively, Rutgers also excelled with ten steals and four blocks, disrupting Michigan's rhythm and creating additional scoring opportunities for themselves. This defensive prowess translated into an overwhelming advantage in fast-break points where they outscored Michigan by a substantial margin of 18 to three.

On top of that, ball distribution for Rutgers was superior; they tallied 17 assists which is indicative of their collaborative play style and ability to find open teammates. Their assist-to-turnover ratio stood at an impressive 3.4 compared to Michigan's less efficient ratio.


Michigan struggled with shooting accuracy across all fronts – managing only a meager 32 percent from field goals and falling short at just 35 percent for two-point attempts. From beyond the arc, things didn't improve much as they hit only six out of twenty-three attempts resulting in a three-point percentage of just around one quarter success rate.

Rebounding was one area where both teams showed parity; each grabbed thirty-nine rebounds overall with Rutgers edging slightly ahead on personal rebounds count by thirty-eight to thirty-five over Michigan.
