Bearkats Edge Out Hilltoppers in a Nail-Biter at Johnson Coliseum

The Sam Houston Bearkats emerged victorious with a 78-74 win over the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, improving their season record to an impressive tally. The game, held at the Bernard Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Texas, saw both teams locked in a tight contest that featured 11 lead changes and was tied five times.

The Bearkats' offense was firing on all cylinders as they matched the Hilltoppers shot for shot. On the other side of court, despite falling short on points scored and rebounds secured, Western Kentucky put up an admirable fight against Sam Houston State Bearkats. They showcased tenacity with ten steals and kept pressure on defense by drawing twenty-one personal fouls from Sam Houston players.


The Hilltoppers also demonstrated proficiency from beyond the arc hitting ten three-pointers at an impressive rate of forty-six percent – higher than that achieved by Sam Houston's thirty-eight percent from three-point range.
