The San Diego State Aztecs showcased a strong defensive performance with nine blocks and six steals, contributing to their dominance over the Cowboys. The home team's offense was equally impressive, with an overall field goal percentage of 43 and an exceptional three-point shooting performance at 47 percent accuracy. The Aztecs capitalized on their scoring opportunities inside the paint with 26 points and outrebounded their opponents by a significant margin, grabbing 40 rebounds compared to the Cowboys' 28.

The offensive efforts were well-distributed among the Aztec players, who also excelled in ball movement by recording 15 assists. Their ability to convert from free throw line was notable as well; they achieved an impressive free throw percentage of approximately 87 percent. Moreover, second-chance points were crucial for the Aztecs as they scored 17 points from such opportunities.

On defense, San Diego State's rebounding was particularly noteworthy as they collected more defensive rebounds than Wyoming had total personal rebounds. This disparity highlighted their control over both ends of the court throughout the game.

The Wyoming Cowboys faced challenges breaking through San Diego State's defense but managed to make eight three-pointers at a rate of about 38 percent from beyond the arc. They fought hard in scoring from two-point range but only converted approximately 31 percent of those attempts into baskets.

Despite trailing behind in many statistical categories, Wyoming did not give up easily and continued to press on both ends of the floor until time expired. They ended up with four fast break points and managed to score eight points off turnovers caused by San Diego State.

As fans cheered on within Viejas Arena filled to its capacity of over twelve thousand spectators, it became evident that this victory would be added proudly to San Diego State's season achievements.
