The match was a display of tactical acumen from the San Diego State side, who managed to outscore their opponents in both halves of the game. The first half ended with the Aztecs leading by 14 points and they continued their dominance into the second half, adding another 33 points to their tally. A key factor in their success was their ability to capitalize on turnovers; they scored 19 points off turnovers compared to just 12 by Nevada.

San Diego State also showed superiority under the basket with an impressive total rebound count of 44 against Nevada's 25. This included a dominant performance on offensive rebounds where they led by more than double that of Nevada, grabbing 17 compared to just six for the visitors. Their defensive efforts were equally strong as both teams managed eight steals each and blocked three shots apiece.

Offensively, San Diego State had a balanced attack throughout the game. They shot at a rate of forty-two percent from field goals and were particularly effective from free throws where they made twenty-two out of thirty-four attempts – translating into sixty-five percent accuracy from the line.

The Wolf Pack did show resilience despite being outplayed; they boasted a higher two-point shooting percentage at sixty-one percent but struggled beyond the arc and from free throw range – only making twenty-six percent and forty-one percent respectively.

As for individual performances, no player fouls resulted in ejections but personal fouls were frequent as Nevada racked up twenty-five personal fouls over San Diego State's seventeen. Both teams ended up blocking three attempted shots each which showcased some defensive resistance amidst an offense-heavy game.

Looking ahead for fans of San Diego State Aztecs basketball: The team is scheduled for an away game against Boise State Broncos at ExtraMile Arena in Boise on January 20th at 11:00 AM Mountain Time (MT). This encounter will be broadcast nationally on CBS where fans can tune in to watch how their team fares on Broncos' territory.
