Can the Aztecs Conquer the Rebels at Thomas & Mack Center?

As the San Diego State Aztecs prepare to face off against the UNLV Runnin' Rebels at the Thomas & Mack Center, fans are eager to see if their team can maintain their momentum from recent victories. The upcoming clash on March 5th promises to be a spectacle of skill and strategy, with both teams looking to assert dominance in this high-stakes game.

The Aztecs have been on a roll, showcasing a balanced attack that has left opponents scrambling. Their most recent victory against Utah State Aggies on February 21st was a testament to their resilience. Despite trailing at halftime with 26 points compared to Aggies' 31, SDSU managed an impressive comeback in the second half, scoring 37 points but ultimately falling short by just five points with a final score of 63-68.

A key aspect of SDSU's performance has been their ability to capitalize on turnovers. Against Utah State Aggies, they scored an impressive 20 points off turnovers. However, they will need to tighten up their three-point shooting which stood at only 16 percent during that game.

In contrast, when playing as hosts against New Mexico Lobos on February 17th, SDSU demonstrated offensive prowess by racking up an astounding 81 points with a field goal percentage of 57 and free throw accuracy sitting comfortably at 70 percent. Their defensive efforts were equally commendable; they amassed six blocks and twelve steals which contributed significantly to their win.

The Aztecs also showed remarkable tenacity in another home game against Colorado State Rams on February 14th where they emerged victorious with a scoreline of 71-55. Dominating rebounds was crucial for SDSU as they collected an impressive total of forty-six rebounds – thirty defensive and thirteen offensive – showcasing their control over both ends of the court.

Looking ahead towards UNLV Runnin' Rebels presents another challenge for SDSU as they step into enemy territory. The Rebels will not make it easy for them; however, based on past performances and statistics such as assists-turnover ratio (1:1) against New Mexico Lobos and two-point shooting percentage (65 percent), it seems likely that San Diego State could dictate the pace once again.

Fans should mark their calendars for what is sure to be an enthralling encounter scheduled for March 5th at precisely eight o'clock in the evening Pacific Time Zone (PT). The battle between these two formidable teams will unfold live from Las Vegas's own Thomas & Mack Center and can be witnessed nationwide via CBS Sports Network broadcast – an opportunity no fan should miss!
