Aztecs' Strategic Mastery

The San Diego State Aztecs demonstrated a well-rounded game plan that capitalized on both offensive and defensive plays. With an overall efficiency rating of 76 compared to the Rams' 38, it's clear that every player contributed significantly to this win. Notably, Miles Byrd stood out with an exceptional performance scoring 25 points, securing six rebounds and achieving seven steals; his efforts were pivotal in leading his team to victory. Additionally, BJ Davis added 12 points and three rebounds which further propelled the team forward.

On defense, the Aztecs were relentless; they managed to block three shots and made eleven steals throughout the game. This defensive pressure caused the Rams to turn over possession twenty times which translated into twenty-two points off turnovers for SDSU.

Rams' Efforts Overshadowed

Despite their loss, Colorado State showed moments of promise during the match. They had a field goal percentage of 43 percent and were successful in making nine out of twenty-eight attempts from beyond the arc. However, their efforts in paint were overshadowed by SDSU's strategic gameplay which limited them significantly.

The most unanswered points streak by CSU was eight points during one phase of play but wasn't enough against SDSU's consistent scoring ability across both halves.

Looking Ahead

As fans celebrate this win for San Diego State Aztecs basketball team against Colorado State Rams at Viejas Arena in San Diego CA., attention now turns towards their next challenge - facing UNLV Runnin' Rebels on January 18th at Viejas Arena again.
