First Half


In the first half, both teams displayed solid defensive strategies. The Aztecs managed to take an early lead with their effective shooting and ball movement. Miles Byrd stood out by contributing significantly on both ends of the court, scoring 17 points and grabbing 7 rebounds. His performance helped SDSU maintain a narrow lead over New Mexico by halftime.


Second Half


As play resumed in the second half, New Mexico's offense began to find its rhythm. The Lobos capitalized on their opportunities at the free throw line, converting 69 percent of their attempts compared to SDSU's 59 percent accuracy from charity stripe shots.
