San Jose State Spartans Outpaced at Lawlor Events Center by Nevada Wolf Pack

The San Jose State Spartans suffered a setback against the Nevada Wolf Pack with a 60-90 loss, bringing their record to an unenviable 0-1. The game, which took place at the Lawlor Events Center in Reno, saw the home team dominate with a commanding lead throughout both halves.

San Jose State Spartans VS Nevada Wolf Pack

The Spartans started off on the back foot as they were outscored significantly in the first half. Despite their efforts to rally back in the second half with 36 points, it was not enough to close down the gap created by the Wolf Pack's aggressive offense. The San Jose State team managed to convert half of their two-point attempts and scored eight three-pointers but struggled from the free-throw line with only 44 percent accuracy.

Defensively, San Jose State recorded three blocks and an equal number of steals but were outrebounded by a significant margin. They pulled down 31 rebounds compared to Nevada's impressive tally of 45. This discrepancy played a crucial role in second-chance opportunities where Nevada capitalized with 21 points from such plays.

Offensively for San Jose State, contributions came from across the board as they dished out 12 assists and scored six fast break points. However, turnovers proved costly for them; despite having fewer turnovers than usual at ten for this game, they only managed six points off turnovers while allowing Nevada to score nineteen.

On contrast, The Wolf Pack showcased superior shooting efficiency across all fronts: field goals (48 percent), three-pointers (48 percent), and free throws (64 percent). Their offensive effort was complemented by seven steals and twenty-three assists which reflected their dynamic ball movement and ability to create scoring opportunities.

Looking ahead after this tough encounter on enemy territory, fans can look forward to seeing how San Jose State will regroup when they host Fresno State Bulldogs at Provident Credit Union Event Center on February 6th at 7:00 PM Pacific Time. This upcoming match will be available for viewing on NBC Sports Bay Area channel number six hundred ninety-six where supporters can tune in to watch their team battle it out once again on home ground.
