In front of a packed house at Colonial Life Arena, the home team displayed resilience and tactical acumen. The first half saw the Gamecocks take control with an assertive offensive display, racking up 43 points to the Rebels' 31. Their shooting was particularly effective from inside the arc where they hit an impressive 58 percent of their two-point attempts.

The second half presented more challenges as momentum shifted slightly towards the visiting team. Despite this shift, South Carolina managed to maintain their lead and secure victory through crucial plays that kept fans on the edge of their seats until the final buzzer sounded. A key factor in their success was their ability to convert turnovers into points; they scored 13 points off turnovers compared to Ole Miss's 11.

South Carolina's defense also played a pivotal role in thwarting Ole Miss's efforts. With three blocks and three steals, they disrupted many scoring opportunities for the visitors. Moreover, their rebounding effort was superior with a total of 32 rebounds – four more than Ole Miss managed – which included seven offensive boards leading to vital second-chance opportunities that resulted in an additional sixteen points for South Carolina.

Offensively, assists were another area where South Carolina shone brightly; distributing sixteen assists showed off their teamwork and ability to find open players effectively. This facilitation led them not only to score more frequently but also with greater efficiency from beyond the arc where they made nine out of twenty-seven three-point attempts.

Despite being less effective from free throw line making only three out seven attempts which translated into just forty-three percent accuracy compared to Ole Miss’s seventy-one percent from similar number attempts; it did not deter them from achieving overall success on offense.

The Gamecocks will look forward to continuing this form when they host Vanderbilt Commodores at Colonial Life Arena on February 10th at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. Fans can catch all action live nationally on SEC Network channel six hundred eleven ensuring no one misses what promises be another exciting matchup for home side as season progresses towards its climax.
