In a closely contested match at Reed Arena, the South Carolina Gamecocks showcased their resilience and teamwork. The team's offensive efforts were led by their remarkable assist tally of 22, which facilitated scoring opportunities throughout the game. The Gamecocks' shooting accuracy from two-point range was notable as they made 20 out of 36 attempts, translating to a solid 56 percent success rate.

The defensive aspect was not left behind as the Gamecocks managed to block four shots and steal the ball twice from their opponents. Their rebounding prowess was on display with a total of 37 rebounds; nine offensive and an additional twenty-eight defensive boards contributed significantly to maintaining possession and creating second-chance points.

Despite committing nine turnovers during play, South Carolina maintained composure with an assists turnover ratio of about four (3.67), indicating efficient ball handling under pressure. Free throw performance could have been better for the team as they made only six out of thirteen attempts; however, this did not deter them from securing victory.

On the other side, Texas A&M Aggies put up a strong fight in front of their home crowd but fell just short. They excelled at free throws making an impressive twenty-two out of twenty-five attempts which is about an eighty-eight percent completion rate but struggled beyond the arc with only twelve percent three-point shooting accuracy.

The game saw six times tied and lead changes four times indicating how competitive it was until the last buzzer sounded. Despite having no remaining timeouts towards crunch time compared to one for South Carolina, Texas A&M kept pushing until the end but couldn't overturn their deficit.
