First Half

The first half saw the Gamecocks struggling to find their rhythm on both ends of the court. Despite an early lead by South Carolina, Arkansas quickly took control with their aggressive play and efficient shooting. The Hogs capitalized on fast breaks and points off turnovers, amassing a significant lead by halftime with a score of 50-38. Meechie Johnson led the Cocks' efforts with his scoring ability but faced tough defense from Arkansas.

Second Half

In the second half, Arkansas continued to dominate inside the paint and extended their advantage further. The Pigs' bench contributed significantly, adding depth to their offensive arsenal. South Carolina's attempts to close the gap were hindered by turnovers and missed opportunities in transition plays. Despite EJ Walker's efforts on rebounds and Eli Ellis contributing defensively, it was not enough to counteract Arkansas's relentless attack.

Post-game Analysis

The South Carolina Gamecocks vs Arkansas Razorbacks recap highlights how pivotal plays in transition and points off turnovers were crucial for Arkansas’s victory. The Hogs’ efficiency was evident as they shot 59 percent from field goals compared to South Carolina’s 44 percent.

In post-game interviews, Coach Lamont Paris emphasized areas for improvement such as reducing turnovers and enhancing defensive strategies against fast-paced teams like Arkansas. He acknowledged that while there were moments of promise from players like Meechie Johnson who scored consistently throughout both halves, overall team cohesion needs work moving forward.
